Whole Home Generators in Baton Rouge & Denham Springs

Storm season is a “when”, not an “if”.

A Generator Is Only As Safe As Its Wiring

Here is the part most people get wrong: a generator is not the hard part. The hard part is what connects it to your house — the transfer switch, the interlock, the inlet. Wire that wrong and you can energise the lines your neighbour's lineman is holding, or fry every circuit in the house when the utility comes back on.

SoLit Electric does the electrical side properly: the equipment that isolates your house from the grid before your generator feeds it, sized to the load you actually need to keep running. If your panel cannot support it yet, we will tell you that first — before you spend money on a generator you cannot safely connect.

What We Install

Never Backfeed A Dryer Outlet The double-male “suicide cord” is how people get electrocuted and how linemen get killed. It also puts the full load of your house through a circuit that was never sized for it. If that is your current setup, stop using it and call. Portable generators must also run outdoors — carbon monoxide does not care that the garage door was open a crack.
