THE TERMS OF WORKING TOGETHER
Last updated 25 October 2026.
Who these terms are with
These terms cover electrical work performed by SoLit Electric LLC, licensed under Louisiana State Contractors License #76273 and owned and operated by Yancie David. They apply from the moment you accept a quote from us, or ask us to begin work, and they apply to the work described on the invoice or quote for that job.
Quotes and estimates
We price work from what we can see. A quote is good for thirty days unless it says otherwise. If we open something up and find a condition nobody could have seen from the outside — hidden damage, a previous installation that does not meet code, a panel with undersized conductors — we will stop, show you what we found, and tell you what it changes before we do anything else. We do not perform work that was not agreed, and we do not add charges we have not explained.
Scheduling, access and site conditions
We need safe access to the work area and a way to reach you during the visit. Please secure pets, clear a path to the panel or the outlet being worked on, and tell us in advance about anything hazardous at the site. Where a job needs a second person or a longer window, we will say so when we schedule. If we arrive and cannot safely reach the work, we may have to reschedule; that is not free if a crew was held for the morning, and we will tell you at the time.
Permits and code compliance
Electrical work in this area is regulated, and we pull the permits a job requires. We will not perform work that requires a permit without one, and we will not certify an installation as compliant when it is not. If you ask us to skip a permit, we may decline the job. That is not us being difficult; it is the licence on the line.
Payment
Payment is due when the work is complete unless the invoice or quote says otherwise. The payment methods we accept, and any deposit required for a job, are stated on the quote or invoice. If an invoice is unpaid past its due date we may pause further work on any open job until it is settled.
Workmanship and manufacturer warranties
We stand behind our work for the period stated on your invoice, and manufacturer warranties on equipment and materials pass to you with the install. If something we installed fails within that period in a way that is down to the work, we come back and make it right at no charge for labour. Warranty does not cover damage from lightning, flooding, rodents, amateur work performed by someone else after we left, or normal wear. Work outside the warranty period is quoted like any other job.
Emergencies and call-out fees
Emergency and after-hours calls carry a call-out fee, which is confirmed with you before we dispatch where there is time to confirm it. That fee covers attendance; the repair itself is quoted separately.
Cancellation and rescheduling
If you cancel with reasonable notice, nothing is owed. If we have already ordered materials for your job or held a crew specifically for it, a late cancellation may carry a charge for what we cannot recover — and we will tell you the amount before we charge it, not after.
Safety
If we find a condition that can put someone in danger — exposed live conductors, a burning smell with no obvious source, a panel that has been overloaded past its rating — we will tell you immediately, in plain terms, and we may have to isolate a circuit or disconnect equipment until it is safe. We will never leave a site in a condition we know to be unsafe without telling you and explaining what to do next.
Photographs of work
We photograph completed work: panels, terminations, meter bases. Photographs may be used on this site or our social accounts to show the work. We do not publish your address, your name, or anything that identifies your property without your permission.
Limitation of liability
Our responsibility for a job is limited to making the work right and, where that is not possible, to the amount you paid us for that job. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under Louisiana law or applicable consumer protection law that cannot be limited by agreement. If something goes wrong, tell us and let us try to put it right first.
Links out
This site links to our profiles on other services — the Better Business Bureau, Google, Facebook, Nextdoor, Instagram and X. Those pages are governed by their own terms, not these.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, the version published on this page applies from the date shown at the top. The terms in force when you accept a quote are the terms for that job, unless you agree otherwise with us in writing.
Questions
Call 225-472-1165 or use the form on the contact page. We would rather answer a question before the work than argue about a term after it.
